Auto-Immune Diseases

Autoimmune diseases and disorders are conditions where the body's immune system, which is designed to protect the body from foreign invaders like viruses and bacteria, mistakenly attacks healthy cells and tissues. Normally, the immune system can distinguish between "self" and "non-self" cells, but in autoimmune diseases, the immune system fails to make this distinction and begins attacking the body's own tissues as if they were foreign invaders. Examples of autoimmune diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, and psoriasis, among others. Symptoms of autoimmune diseases can vary depending on the specific condition and the part of the body that is affected. Some common symptoms include fatigue, joint pain, muscle weakness, skin rashes, and digestive problems. The exact causes of autoimmune diseases are not well understood, but genetics, environmental factors, viruses (e.g. the Epstein Barr Virus) and other pathogens and toxins, as well as diet, cause inflammation and play a significant role in creating autoimmune diseases. Treatment options vary depending on the specific condition.

At Routes to Health, we provide comprehensive treatment that begins with a thorough functional nutritional analysis. From there, we develop a personalized approach to identify the underlying cause of the disease and determine the most effective strategies to address it. Our goal is to significantly improve our patients' quality of life. Our approach includes a range of therapeutic modalities such as Access Bars®️ and Photobiomodulation therapy, as well as individualised dietary and supplementation plans.

By addressing underlying stress, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and fear factors, which are often triggers for these diseases, as well as inflammation and reduced cell energy, which underlie many diseases, we can provide targeted support for each patient's unique needs.
